Elizabeth Lake Deposit
Deposit Information
- Copper mineralization was first discovered on the southwest shore of Elizabeth Lake in 1967. Later trenching in 1967 returned copper values of 0.87% Cu over 5.12m.
- Work in the late 1960’s included ground EM, trenching and geological mapping on the south side of Elizabeth Lake. In addition, 6,445 metres was drilled identifying two Cu-mineralized zones; the north and south zones.
- Further drilling and exploration continued until 1970 and an estimate of mineral resources was compiled; although non-NI 43-101 compliant.
- Exploration was limited to geophysical work in the early 1980’s. Until 1984, when Cameco re-analysed for gold from 10 historical holes.
- After the claim CBS 6214 lapsed in 1991, Claude Resources Inc. completed prospecting and rock sampling in 1994. In 1996, they released indicated reserves of the northeast trending Elizabeth Lake deposit, open at depth.
- VTEM collected by Troy Energy Corp. noted a strong conductor to the south of the deposit as well as uncovering magnetic evidence of a shear zone hosting the deposit.
- The last work to occur included an aerial geophysical survey highlighting several interpreted faults and shears; possible structural controls for VMS or gold-sulphide deposits.
Deposit Highlights
- Interpreted to be a partly remobilized, largely sediment-hosted volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit hosted in the same belt as the Anglo Rouyn deposit; a ‘Besshi-Type’ massive sulphide deposit (Maxeiner & MacLachlan, 2010.)
- Multiple Cu-rich, Ag-Au bearing mineralization styles are observed throughout the metasedimentary gneiss host. This includes lenses, pods, veins and disseminations of pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite; the later closely associated with quartz. Zones of sphalerite are present as well as localized galena.

Completed Work (MAS)
- In April 2021, MAS completed a relogging and resampling program on 20 historical diamond drill holes on the Elizabeth Lake property.
- The work was successful in its aim of confirming 1968 assays and identified a suite of pathfinder elements that correlate with the economic minerals of interest to aid future targeting.
Future Work / Plans
- Geophysical and Backpack drilling field program planned for fall 2022.
- Review future field work and historical data to help delineate future drill program targets
